Eddie Redmayne, Alex Sharp, Sacha Baron Cohen | In Chicago in 1968, a Democratic Party rally met with protests from activists such as the average student of the Tom Hayden Democratic Party and Yippies heroes led by Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, which sparked fierce clashes with local governments. As a result, seven of the defendants’ leaders are accused of conspiracy from the Nixon government, as well as Bobby Seale of the Black Panthers who was not involved in the incident. What follows is an unfair trial led by competing judge Hoffman (No Fellowship) and charged by Richard Schultz who is hesitant but responsible. While their pro bono lawyers are facing similar situations, Hayden and his teammates are saddened by Yippie’s vicious attack that weakens their defense by ignoring the system even when Seale is denied a chance to defend himself. Along the way, Chicago 7 gets into a crisis in their political philosophies even as they learn they need each other in this war.
