He has a great new job, but Daniel quickly discovers that the dark-haired Italian boy with an emphasis on Jersey doesn’t fit into the blonde surfer crowd. When Daniel loses consciousness, seeing Miyagi, the elderly gardener throws himself into a fight and saves him, defeating half a dozen teenagers. Miyagi and Daniel soon discover the real motivator for child abuse in the form of their karate teacher. Miyagi promises to teach Daniel karate and organizes a fighting tournament across the valley. When he starts training, Daniel doesn’t understand what is being shown to him. Miyagi seems to be more interested in Daniel painting fences and wax machines than teaching him karate.
Daniel accompanies his mentor, Mr. Miyagi, to the Miyagi Orphanage in Okinawa. Miyagi visits his dying father and confronts his old rival, while Daniel falls in love and inadvertently becomes a new rival.
