The film, which will be played in the near future, follows Teresa (Brbara Cole), who returns to the home of the Brazilian landmark village of Bacurau to attend her grandmother’s funeral. Upon arrival, Teresa immediately sees signs that Bacurau is in critical condition. Basic resources are depleted, cell phone coverage is reduced, fresh water supplies are shut off and a truck with drinking water comes full of bullet holes. It soon becomes clear that the corrupt government has left the village altogether: Bacurau has not only been literally removed from the map, but his citizens are also being attacked. Under short-term liability, villagers must organize organized resistance to avoid major damage.
